PELVIC FLOOR PHYSICAL THERAPY

The pelvis is the center of attention.

Literally, it is the central meeting point of the upper and lower body!

The pelvic floor is a "bowl" of muscles that sit within the pelvis that have an influence on several functional activities including bladder and bowel movements, intercourse, giving birth, and stabilization of the lumbar spine, pelvis, and hips when moving. When it is "angry," it can get LOUD.

Pelvic floor physical therapy can significantly change the quality of life of people who are experiencing issues such as:

  • pain and tightness throughout the pelvis, spine, hips, sacroiliac joints, and genitals

  • nerve/radiating pain (sciatica and pudendal neuralgia)

  • discomfort with intercourse

  • bladder and bowel incontinence

  • post-surgical discomfort (cesarean section, episiotomy, prostate, endometriosis, gallbladder removal, other abdominal and pelvic surgeries)

  • discomfort throughout pregnancy (round ligament, pubic symphysis, swelling, etc.)

  • postpartum recovery (tearing, scars, prolapsed tissues, weakness, heaviness)
